About the bushranger site Site

Background

Hazel Orr developed  the Bushranger Site while studying "Computers in the Classroom" for her Graduate Diploma of Education whilst studying at the University of New England in 1997. The site is hosted by the University of New England's School of Curriculum Studies server.

The idea was to create an interactive learning site presenting information about the Australian Bushrangers with a range of educational activities covering different areas of the primary school curriculum. The site is targeted towards primary school students and their teachers.

In early 1998 Andrew Stackpool, a keen student, writer, and speaker on the Australian Bushrangers, and Australian colonial history, became involved in offering a responsive "Ask the Expert" email enquiry service on the Bushranger Site. Andrew has since greatly enhanced the content of the site by adding to the available biographical profiles and posting his answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
