Anderson, James

Atkins, William. haunts: Hanged in Melbourne 4 October 1853. Haunts: Kyneton, McIvor. Four Accomplices were George Wilson, George melville, John and Jeremiah Murphy.

Armstrong, William 1836-1859 Haunts: Omeo, Gibbo

Barnes, William 1823-1852 One of the famous Nelson robbers, Haunts: Keilor Plains, Black Forest

Barrow, Arthur. Haunts: Ballarat, Pennyweight Flat. Partner of William Garroway.

Baylie, John. Member of the 'Eureka Gang' along with Henry Johnston, Charles Bowe and John Donovan and John Finegan. Haunts: Melbourne to Bendigo.

Bennett, Graham 1859- Haunts: Egerton, Wantabadgery. Captured at the great Watabadgery holdup on 15 NOV 1879.

Byrne, Joe. Member of the Kelly gang.Shot dead at the seige at Glenrowan Inn

Chesley, John

Donovan John of the 'Eureka' gang. Haunts: Melbourne to Bendigo.

Douglass, John. Accomplice of William Bryan. Haunts: Muddy Creek

Duncan, James

Edwards, William. Haunts: Melbourne, Emerald Hill.

Ellis, John. (Yanky Jack) Partner of Jack Williams and 'Young' Fogarty. Haunts: Dandenong. Hanged in Melbourne May 1842.

Finegan, John. With John Donovan led the 'Eureka' gang in 1852. Haunts: Melbourne to Bendigo.

Fogarty, 'Young'. Accomplice of Ellis, Williams and Jepps. Haunts: Melbourne.

Garret, Henry. Robbed the Bank of Victoria with Thomas Quinn, John Boulton and Henry Marriot. After release in 1861 went to New Zealand and became the first bushranger there.

Goodison, Christopher. Accomplice Alfred Stallard.

Hammond, James

Hart, Steve, of the Kelly Gang. Shot dead at the Glenrowan Inn seige.

Jepps, 'Vandie'. Accomplice of Ellis, Fogarty and Williams. Haunts: Yarra River. Hanges in Melbourne on 16 March, 1841.

Johnston, Henry. Belonged to the 'Eureka' gang. Haunts: Melbourne to Bendigo.

Jones, Richard

Jones, William

Kelly, Dan Partner of his older brother, Ned in the outlawed Kelly gang. Took part in the exploits at Stringy Bark Creek where three police were murdered, at Jerilderie when the town was held up,and at Euroa when they held up the National Bank. Shot dead by police in the Glenrowan Inn seige in 1880.

Kelly, Edward, (Ned)led the Kelly Gang which included his younger brother, Dan, Steve Hart and Joe Byrne. Hanged in Melbourne on 11 November 1880.

Kelly, James. Brother of Ned and Dan. Jailed for ten years for various bushranging exploits which may have saved him from an earlydeath with his brothers.

Layworth, William

Mack, William. Partners with Richard Bryant. Haunts: Fryers Creek.

McCallum, Frank (Captain Melville). Partner of William Roberts. Haunts: Ballarat, Geelong.

Maloney, Thomas.

Marriot, Henry. Accomplices were Garrett, Boulton, and Quinn. Held up the Bank of Victoria, Ballarat in December 1854.

 

Melville, Edward. Haunts: Buninyong.

Melville, George. Haunts: Kyneton. Perished on the gallows with partners George Wilson and William Atkins.

 

Morgan, James.

Murphy, Jeremiah. With brother John, Wilson, and Atkins robbed the McIvor to Kyneton gold escort in July 1853.

Nesbit, James. (alias Lyons) b 1856, Vic and joined the 'Moonlight' gang in 1879. Shot dead at Wantabadgery on 15 November 1879.

Nugent, James. Haunts: Ballarat.

Perry, John.

Power, Harry. Haunts: Porepunkah, Beechworth. Drowned in the Murray River in 1891.

Quinn, Thomas. In Dec 1854 joined John Boulton, Henry Marriot and Henry Garret in robbing the Bank of Victoria at Ballarat. Quinn turned informer and escaped punishment.

Regent, James.

Roberts, William. Partner of Frank McCallum.

Scott, George (alias Captain Moonlite). Haunts: Ballarat, Bendigo. Led the raid on MacDonald's station at Wantabadgery in November 1879. Hanged in 1880.

Scott, William. Haunts: Bendigo. Joined the Clarke gang.

Simpson, William.

Smith, Henry.

Stallard, Alfred. Partner Christopher Goodison. Haunts: Bendigo.

Stanton, Patrick (alias Jack Muck) Haunts: Black Dog Creek near Rutherglen.

Stroud, Thomas.

Suffolk, Owen. Partner was Christopher Farrell. Haunts: Geelong, Portland.

Williams, John.

Wilson, George. Accomplice of Melville, Atkins and the Murphy brothers in robbing the gold escort from McIvor to Kyneton on 28 July 1853. Captured, tried and hanged in Melbourne on 4 October 1853.

Young, John.

Young, William. Rode with William Simpson, William Layworth, William Rogers, and Thomas Stroud.
