The Why Files is a project of the National Institute for Science Education that is published twice a month. The idea is to take a news story and explain the science behind it. They address everything from comets to mad cow disease, using clear language, an on-line glossary, accurate information and attractive presentation. Young people are also encouraged to make contributions.
