"Section 1 outlines the foundations on which gifted and talented programs are based. In a user-friendly fashion, it overviews the theoretical underpinnings of gifted education and explains why it is necessary for the teacher to develop differentiated programs, exploring the central issues on which such programs are based.
Section 2 contains a number of units - drawn from each of the major areas of the curriculum - to illustrate the way in which curriculum units may be developed for all students in the class and then differentiated for gifted and talented students within the class. Produced to create "a curriculum unit on leadership that could be presented to gifted and talented students at the upper elementary and junior high level that combined the skills and knowledge of teachers of the gifted and those of content specialists" and "to demonstrate a method by which new and valid curriculum materials could be generated for educating gifted students." Subtitled 'A simulation of the archeological reconstruction of a vanished civilization', this kit comes with a teachers' handbook and a class set of 35 student workbooks. Designated for use with students in grades 5 to 12. Possibly the best enrichment activity available.

Describes a multi-disciplinary unit conducted at Immanuel College in Adelaide. Inputs on the theme of 'Bridges' were made by seven disciplines. Details of these are provided, along with an evaluation of the students' responses and a copy of the assignment sheet used.
